Why a recipe card is helpful

I chose the colors and flowers to make this flower pot pretty.
I used a triangle shape to plant my flowers in flower pot.

My Color Pot Recipe Card

A recipe card is helpful to plan ahead.
Here are some things that we need to do before we plant a flower pot.
  1. What plants you need
  2. What pots you need to plant
  3. How much it costs (each plant, the pot, the soil)
  4. how big the pot is needed
  5. You must chose the colors of the flowers
  6. You have to think about the sizes of the plants.
  7. The tallest flowers go in the middle of the pot.
  8. The medium plants are planted around the middle of the pot.
  9. And the shortest plants go around the edge of the pot.

Lessons from Hannah

Smiling Flower

Lesson 1 Watering Plants
If you don't water the plants, then they will die.

Lesson 2 Selling plants
If you sell them, you can get money.

Lesson 3 Buying plants
You can buy them on sunny days, because people aren't out as much on rainy days.

Lesson 4 Rain
Your sign will get wet if it rains.

Lesson 5 Rainy Days
If it is raining, then the plants will be watered.

Lesson 6 Customer Waiting
When a customer is on the phone, you wait until they are off.

Lesson 7 Pollination
Bees and butterflies pollinate the flowers, because Jesus made them that way.

Lesson 8 Taking Orders
You ask the people if they want to buy something. If they say yes, then you can drop off their flowers to them. If someone says no, you go on.

Lessons I've learned after two years of business

I sat down and interviewed Josh about the lessons he's learned during the past two years.

Lesson 1
How to read bank statements. They show the deposits we put in, and the checks written to pay our bills, and our account balances.

Lesson 2
Our customers like our picture we gave them for Christmas. The picture was taken on the first day of school. We gave pictures as a thank you gift to our customers.

Lesson 3
I have learned how to fill out the invoices when I make a sale. I include the customer's name & address, phone number, and the date of the sale. I learned how to put the quantity & the price. Then we put a smiley face, and write "Thank You!". I also have to add the sales tax, which is 7.6% in 2005, but now it is 7.7%. At the bottom of the invoice we have to then add the total, and I sign my name.

Lesson 4
I learned how to make a recipe for hanging baskets or planter pots. We have different shapes for each of the flowers, and then we know where to plant them. Recipe cards help you what plants you need and where to put them.
